Preventive and Wellness Medicine

The human body can do INCREDIBLE things; however, it needs proper care to perform at its peak.  This healthcare practice is focused on helping your body do what it was designed to do - prevent, heal, and thrive - using the critical tools of nutrition and lifestyle.  It is evidenced-based, effective, and best of all, natural.

Goals of Preventive and Wellness Medicine:

  • Prevent disease (of course!)
  • Target the root cause of problems
  • Understand the big picture of one's health
  • Manage existing ailments in a way that nurtures the body's own healing mechanisms
  • Minimize the need for medications, procedures, or doctor visits due to illness
  • Develop healthy habits that will last a lifetime
  • Feel positive, energetic, and vibrant

A Focus on Nutrition and Lifestyle

I've chosen to dedicate an entire practice to nutrition and lifestyle because, well, it is just that important.  Issues with nutrition and lifestyle are most often at the root of what ails us.  Therefore, addressing what we eat and how we live our lives is a very logical approach to achieving health, healing, and disease prevention.

I could go on and on about all of the benefits of eating healthy foods, engaging in physical activity, managing stress, getting a good night's sleep, avoiding toxins, thinking positively, and spending quality time with friends and family.  However, I will give you just an idea of some of the many areas of the body that can benefit from optimizing nutrition and lifestyle:
  • Body weight
  • Immunity
  • Gut health
  • Skin condition
  • Longevity and healthy aging
  • Mood
  • Energy
  • Healing
  • Hormone balance
  • Fertility
  • Cardiovascular health
  • Cancer prevention
  • Detoxification
  • Sports performance
  • Mental performance

Health Coaching

Although optimizing nutrition and lifestyle is a seemingly simple approach, in reality, it can often be very challenging to implement, especially in the modern world we live in today.  This is where having a partner who works with you step by step is key.  In this practice, I am not only a physician but I am also a health coach.  I work closely with my clients on a long-term basis to ensure they get the care and guidance they need to succeed.
