Root Cause Medicine

The human body can do INCREDIBLE things; however, it needs the right inputs to function optimally.  This practice is dedicated to helping the body do what it was designed to do - prevent, heal, and thrive - by identifying and fixing the nutrition and lifestyle imbalances that drive illness and make us vulnerable to health issues in the future.

Root cause medicine is evidenced-based, effective, and best of all, natural.

Goals of Root Cause Medicine:

  • Target the true, 'deepest' root cause(s) underlying health problems
  • Correct nutrition and lifestyle imbalances to promote optimal health, healing, and disease prevention
  • Appreciate the nutrition and lifestyle environments our body's evolved in and are thus best adapted for
  • Understand the big picture of one's health
  • Manage existing ailments in a way that nurtures the body's own healing mechanisms
  • Minimize the need for medications, procedures, or doctor visits due to illness
  • Develop healthy habits that will last a lifetime
  • Feel positive, energetic, and vibrant

The Good Stuff

Joy, Meaning, Connection

Correcting nutrition and lifestyle imbalances is at the core of root cause medicine because nutrition and lifestyle imbalances are usually the ‘deepest’ root cause(s) of chronic illness and ongoing symptoms and what prevent us from feeling our best and preventing future health issues.

Here are some of the many areas of the body that can benefit from correcting nutrition and lifestyle imbalances:
  • Healing
  • Immunity
  • Gut health
  • Skin condition
  • Longevity and healthy aging
  • Mood
  • Energy
  • Body weight
  • Hormone balance
  • Fertility
  • Cardiovascular health
  • Cancer prevention
  • Detoxification
  • Sports performance
  • Mental performance

Health Coaching

Although correcting nutrition and lifestyle imbalances may seem like a simple approach, in reality, it can often be very challenging to implement, especially in the modern world we live in today. This is where having a partner who works with you step by step is key. In this practice, I am not only a physician but I am also a health coach. I work closely with my patients to ensure they get the care and guidance they need to succeed.
