A Tale of Two Foods

6/1/2016

good food vs. bad food
There are two main types of foods:

  1. Foods that grow in nature and have been around for thousands of years.
  2. Foods that have been created by humans mostly in the last century – often highly processed (altered from their original state) and often made with numerous chemicals, added sugars, preservatives, and flavorings.
As you might have guessed, the second category can wreak havoc on the body if eaten regularly.  Our bodies were just not designed to function properly utilizing these foods.

The bodies we live in today evolved over time along with the foods that were around for most of history (#1 above).  Therefore, our bodies were created to function properly – prevent disease, heal, maintain a healthy weight, etc. – with the elements in these basic and natural foods.  I will be posting much more about these essential elements so that it will become more clear as to why these foods are so important!

But for now, remember: the food that you put into your body becomes YOU – your blood, your hair and skin, the cells of your eyes, heart, and brain – literally every piece of you.  In addition, nutrients in your food travel all over your body interacting with your DNA, turning on and off genes, thus affecting how your body functions.

Start thinking of food as medicine and great things can happen.
